National Team player Dimitar Anguelov (202-G/F-79) agreed terms with reining Bulgarian champion Lukoil Academic. Angelov spent last season in Olimpia GE Larissa, which competed in Greek A1 league. For 21 regular season games he averaged 5.7 ppg and 2.1 rpg. Actually he started 07/08 in Tundja Yambol but in December he joined Larissa.
He had 7 appearances for Yambol in Bulgarian A1 recording impressive 21 ppg, 6.9 rpg and 2 apg. Before Yambol, Anguelov used to play in Levski Sophia, BC Kyiv, CSKA Sophia and Aris. He started basketball career in Yambolgaz, where he played until 2002. Actually that season Yambolgaz became domestic league winner. In 2003 Angelov won FIBA Champions Cup with Aris Thessaloniki. Two years later he celebrated in Bulgarian National Cup with CSKA Sophia (MVP).
Dimitar Anguelov was a part of Bulgarian National Team, which booked a spot for EuroBasket 2009 in Poland. He also played for Bulgarians on EuroBasket 2005 in Belgrade. In 3 games he had 9.3 ppg, 1 rpg and 2.7 apg. This summer he played 8 games for his country adding 9.4 ppg, 3.4 rpg and 1.4 apg.
