Ivan Hoger-the tallest guy to play ball in Bulgaria

224 cm [b] Ivan Hoger[/b] will be the tallest player ever to play basketball in Bulgarian league. 24 years old Czech [b] Hoger[/b] signed four year deal with [b] CSKA[/b] and he is their 10th addition to the club for upcoming 2006/2007 season. [b] Ivan Hoger[/b] arrived in Sofia less than a month ago and was on tryout with several other players. The club had a long thoughts about whether to sign the big guy. [i]“By signing Hoger we invest in the future. We had no choice but to sign player with the size he has. Our coaching staff will have to do lot of work to improve his game. If they manage to turn him in better player that will be recognition for them as well. We have no big expectations for him in the first season with [b] CSKA[/b] but in the same time we hope we will in the next few years.” [/i]– said the general manager of the club [b] Emil Cohen[/b] . Hoger play three years in second team of [b] Olimpia Ljubljana[/b] before moving to [b] Triglav Kranj[/b] in Slovenian First Division. He played 30 games for that team and average 6.8 points per game in season 2002-2003. Last two years he played for [b] St.Polten[/b] in Austria First Budesleague. However in February this year he came back to his original country and played for [b] Sparta Prague[/b] . He average for his team 9.5 points in 10 games. Back in 2001 he was member of Czech National Junior (u 20) team. With the size of 224 cm he is beating 222 cm American [b] Priest Lauderdale[/b] to become the biggest guy to ever play in Bulgaria.
