Dunav Econt is the first finalist

Dunav Econt is the first team to qualify for the final of this year edition of the Cup of Bulgaria named "Ledenika-Bulgaria". The team from Ruse defeated the hosts of the Final 4 Beroe 07 76-62 and for third straight year will try to win the Cup of Bulgaria. In the previous editions Dunav played in the final but lost to Lukoil Neftochimic and Montana 2003.
Dunav played better in the first half and after taking the lead late in the first quarter the team never gave it up. The team from Ruse was up 22-19 after ten minutes and 42-32 after the first half.
The second half started with 6-0 run for Beroe 07 but Dunav quickly responded and answered with 4. In the next 4 minutes both teams didn't score a single point and but at the end of the quarter Dunav was up 57-46. In the last the team pulled ahead 68-50, then Beroe cut the deficit to 70-62 but just couldn't do more in this game and finally lost it.
Charell Allen was the top performer for the winners with 16 points and 6 rebounds, as Natalia Topalova and Danielle Burgin both scored 12.
Top scorer in the game was Latasha Byears with 20 points but of her teammates only Ralitsa Naneva passed the 10-point mark - she scored 11.
