Dunav Econt will play in a friendly tournament in Alexandria, Romania from 5th to 7th October along with the team of the hosts and Olympia and Rapid from Bucharest. Thus 2 weeks after they won the “Ruschuk” tournament in their home town Ruse, the girls of head coach Stefan Stefanov will chase another trophy.
Then, as it was duly announced by BulgarianBasket.com, Dunav Ekont won in all the three games, the last of which was over the same team of Alexandria. The players of the Danube city will return the visit and the game with the hosts is once again scheduled to be the closing one – on Sunday at 12.00 o’clock. Although Alexandria finished in third place in Ruse, it is highly probable this time the fight between these two teams might be the tournament win decider. For Dunav Econt the first place is not goal number one though. Most important is to test its strengths against three of the best teams in Romania. That will be a great way to prepare for the start of the preliminary round of FIBA Eurocup Women. On October 18th is Dunav Econt's first game of that one, away at AEL Imperial Limassol in Cyprus.

The first game of our girls in the Alexandria tournament is tomorrow at 17.00h and in that they will meet the 5-th place finishers in last season's Romanian league – Olympia Bucharest. Both teams know each other well, since a year ago they met in Dunav Hall in Ruse in another friendly game. Then Olympia achieved a 92-87 victory over a young (as it was back then) Dunav Econt team.

The second game on Saturday at 17.00h is against the 6th placed team in the Romanian championship Rapid Bucharest.
The impressions of the third opponent Alexandria are very fresh from te tournament in Ruse. What they showed there and the 8-th place in Romania last season with a squad solely comprised of youngsters speaks a lot for their ambitions this year. There are four American additions in the lines of Alexandria and if they play up to their ability, it will mean a hard job for their opponents. From Saturday to Sunday BulgarianBasket will do its best to keep you informed about the performance of our girls in the neighbouring country
