Yambol is set to receive huge boost to its roster after agreeing a deal with Dimitar Angelov (202-G/F-79). Since he left Lukoil Academic, Bulgarian National Team member has been looking for a club. He was approached by Yambol management, who offered him a chance to return to the team from his home town, where he started basketball career. It seems that the offer was too good to refuse and Angleov will be playing for Yambol.
Dimitar Angelov started his career in 1997 when he made debut for Yambolgaz. In 5 seasons with Yambolgaz, Angleov established himself as an excellent young prospect. One of his best seasons came during 1999-200 when he averaged 18.9 points and 8.2 rebounds.
Because of his versatility, Angleov was labeled as one of the most promising Bulgarian players. In 2002 Angleov signed with Aris, where he spent one season and appeared in 26 League games, posting averages of 5.2 points and 3.2 rebounds. He has also played for the likes of CSKA, BC Kyiv, Levski and Larissa among many. Last season, he spent at Lukoil with whom he has won the National Title. He averaged 8.5 points and 3.0 rebounds in 19 Bulgarian League games.
Angleov is also a member of Bulgarian National Team. He played at EuroBasket 2005 in Belgrade, while he appeared in 8 qualification games for Euobasket 2009 in Poland. In those matches he averaged 9.4 points and 3.4 rebounds.
