Pleven will host The Cup of Bulgaria tournament
Pleven will host the Cup of Bulgaria tournament for men. The Board of the Bulgarian basketball federation voted the for the city because of the better financial offer than the other candidate Botevgrad. The host Spartak will pay all expenses and the hotel and food for all participants.
The tournament will take place between 19-22 of February. The last time Pleven hosted the Cup of Bulgaria was in 2009 when Levski defeated Lukoil Academic in the final and Spartak finished third.
In this year′s edition there will be eight participating teams. Only Chernomorets Burgas will not play in the tournament from the nine teams in the NBL.
The draw for the tournament will take place on February 16th. It will be seeded as the first four teams in the standings of the NBL will be in the first seed and won′t play against each other in the quarter-final phase. The draw for the semi-finals will not be seeded.
