Beroe 07 is looking to solve the lack of players at the center position. They have reportedly started the negotiations with Canadian National Team center, Leanne Evans (188-F-86). Evans so far played for the University of British Columbia in Canada Collegiate league. Last season she averaged 10.5 points and 11 rebounds per game, which attracted the interest from Bulgarian outfit. If they reach the deal, this would be Evan's first professional contract. It remains to be seen if this deal will be materialized and if Zlatina Kaloferova, the only center currently on the team, will receive some help in the coming season.

Leanne Evans so far represented University of British Columbia. There she established herself as the team's best player, winning a host of individual awards. Last season she was voted All-CanWest 2nd Team as well as CanWest Defensive Player of the Year. Evans represented Canadian National Team at U21 Level. She appeared at the U21 World Championships in Russia in 2007. In 8 games, she posted averages of 2.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Same year, she also played at World University Championships in Bangkok. After a great last season, Evans has also made debut in the Canada Senior National Team.
