The Greek side is through to the final at the friendly tournament
Panathinaikos is the first finalist at the friendly tournament in Sofia. In the semifinal The Greens defeated Crvena Zvezda 70-64 after having advantage for most of the game. In the final tomorrow at 19.00 local time (18.00 CET) PAO will meet Barcelona.
Panathinaikos had the lead from start to finish but mostly it was a slim margin. The Greens had 14-12 advantage after the first quarter and after good finish of the first half they went up 30-23 at the break.
PAO scored the first two points of the second half but then Zvezda made a 7-0 run to cut the deficit to 2. The Serbians though never did tie the game as PAO went up once again and after 30 minutes had 47-39 lead. In the last quarter the margin went up to 17 points as Zvezda managed to cut it to 6 at the final buzzer.
Sofoklis Schortsanitis was the top scorer for the winners with 18 points as for Zvezda 14 scored Elton Brown.
